Danny I'm waiting for my buddy who knows a couple of netters on the shore to let know there here. If we get some warm days it could be sooner. But you are close on that date. Come on Copper Heads !

After listening to our Pirate friend, Im amped to hit the Black drum this year. Ive never caught one while actually fishing for them. I got my first paper last year at the 3rd sight fishing for them. Set up 5 or 6 trip last year between Carolyn and Craig P last year and still couldnt get it right. Had peelers, sea clams, good location, correct rigging...but no bites. Had to watch the other boats wear them out. VERY FRUSTRATING.

All my rigs are tied up, ready for the drum. My leaders are short, 8" of 80 lb with a snelled 7/0 or 8/0 "J" hook on a fish finder rig.

Yep 80lb about 2 or 3' to give you a leader long enough to grab and swing the sharks in the boat, your not distance casting so a short leader isnt needed.
