Default Had to settle for a pond

Wanted to go for Shad today, but my engine wouldn't run right. Had to settle for a pond where I only need my trolling motor. Didn't do too bad - Five bass and four chains. One bass was 4# and another was 3 1/2#. My buddy Wayne got four bass and three chains. One of Wayne's bass looked to be about 3#. We each misses a couple of hits. It was a really nice day even though we normall catch more fish there.

Frank, I believe that Pat Q. went shad fishing on the James near the I95 bridge today. That's were I was planning to go, but couldn't. I haven't gotten a report from him yet.

Dave if you wanna go Saturday, you can hop on with me. Wish I knew you were looking., we went out tonight about 6pm till dark 30 and slaye em up by the 95 bridge, then just before sunset set up for cats and lost one nice one before calling it a night. Shad darts on a fly rod is AWESOME!

We had one every few minutes. We only kept a few for catfish bait, tossed the others. Biggest was about 20" on the fly rod.

if you go with us, you can keep whatever you want. We don't eat 'em and I can't bring myself yet to eat cats from around there. (between the run-off from the city and the poop plant...I'll pass.) We usually try to end the day with a try for big 'ole cats.

Scott, thanks for the offer. I'd like to go with you but I can't. I have tried for three months to get a contractor to fix a problem with my garage and he is finally comming at 10am on Saturday.

I'm glad you slayed them the other evening and good luck for tomorrow. Dave
