Take a Soldier Fishing from Pensacola

There is going to be an influx of wounded soldiers in Pensacola, Florida from May 14th to May 18th for a bicycle rally. Would anyone be interested in taking these guys out on the water for some fishing? The bicycle rally is on the 16th, Saturday and will be the main event. There will be alot of married couples that I am sure would love to go out on Big Blue for the day. We are working with Independence Fund to support them with wounded soldiers for the bike ride. These soldiers will be coming in from all over the country and are some of our Nation's most severly wounded. Amputees, burn victims, soldiers with Traumatic Brain Injury, and PTSD all will be participating in the bike rally. This is all part of their recovery and I think it would be great to help fill their time with some mind blowing fishing.

This isn't going to be an organized event with prizes and cameras and all that hoopla. This is going to be a simple form you fill out with your contact info, type of fishing, and the days you can go fishing as well as how many you can take with you. There will be a number of soldiers in wheelchairs and we will need to identify which boats can handle them. We will print the forms out and hand them directly to the soldiers.

This does not just have to be fishing. It can be sailing, or cruising or whatever it is that you would like to do to show a day of thanks.

Alright Captains and boaters I have made up a form specifically for this event so we can have a little extra fun! Please use the sign up form to submit your information. Although nothing is guaranteed that you will get a phone call, I do know that there are alot of soldiers that would love to have this oportunity. Once we leave the area we can compile the information and utilize it to get you hooked up with a soldier from the Naval Air Station or another base nearby as well.
