    Default First Crabbing Trip 5/19/2009

    Ok folks.....here it is....

30 traps baited and in the water by 645am. End of the outgoing tide, incoming tide began at 802am. traps in 3-12ft with the majority in 7-9ft. worked 3 different areas of the river. Couldnt get a water temp due to my buddies depth finder goin in and out all day long.

Caught a Doz solid crabs. All dark as can be and heavy! Also picked up 2 doublers with nice and ripe peelers!

For the river I was in and considering the way the weather has been and how early it is.....i wouldnt say it was a wasted trip. traps were pulled by 1030 and off the water by 11am.

Worked our butts off for the dozen but it was a beautiful day on the water.

No other crabbers except for potters rollin out to the main bay and one guy had some what i thought was eel pots in the river. i didnt check....that would be illegal.
