I'm pretty sure a contender will be my next 5'/5year step up boat (just gotta get the wife thinking that way, too!), they are sweet! Thanks for the report!
SORRY WED. NIGHT LAST NIGHT (I WAS THINKING OF FRIDAY!!!)David Akridge with VB Contender has been talking me about doing an evening drum trip for a couple weeks now and the weather and schedules finally coicided. We were going to be fishing some shallower water so i asked David if we could take the 27t (plus i had never ridden on that boat) and Son Let Me Tell Ya - That is one hellava ride. David myself, Sean Doran, Wally and Max departed around 4:30 for a Short ride up to the shoals. I think we made it up there in the time it took us to get up LONG CREEK! The wind was not quite as calm as predicted, but that boat just eats bay chop with swell up at 40mph. i am sure we could have gone a lot faster, but there was a lot of wood out there in the bay from the recent blow (so be carefull this weekend). Not a drop of spray on the boat or curtains all night. That has got to be the best 30' under center console i have ever been on. PERIOD.
Night started out pretty slow with only one run and tide running against the wind. around sunset though around the turn of the tide and first of the outgoing, had four runs of which 3 came tight. Wally had the first fish 47 1/2", David had his first red drum citation 46 1/2" and max had a nice fight on a 44 1/2" fish. All tagged and released very green. David was saying this fish doesn't fight that hard after a 2 min. fight to the boat, well i think the fish heard him and after a 20 more minutes with heavy drag and MAX telling me i needed to check the drags, we finally had him. I told MAX check that drag. He did and i think David had cranked it up to about 15-20# OUCH and that fish still fought like hell. David was then pretty impressed with the fight our Seaside Red Drum have. Had a third run but somehow we pulled the hook. pretty quick bite at the beginning of the outgoing and then we called an early night and back at home bevfore midnight. Boy was that a pleasure fishing on that boat. I was spoiled. Too bad i can't get used to it right now, but hopefully that MEGMILLIONS TICKET WILL COME THROUGH. Thanks again David and I am glad i got you on a nice fish.

Way to put'em on the Drum Casey. That's good fishing over there, and you were definitely on the right ride to make the trip. Congrats to you and "the crew".
Pretty work on the DRUM, REDS DO FIGHT.
Also, I am a Contender owner and the boats are INCREDIBLE. Take a ride on the 31T, it's a ride you'll never forget.
nice report, those are great boats.
Nice...looking forward to tommorrow night.
I often wonder... do I lure the fish, or do the fish lure me?
Nice job Casey and crew. I'll give you a hint about fishing and boating.........

Nice work, will see you out there ;)
Had a great time, David and crew.
That boat is a machine! The ride is incredible...like Casey said, not a drop on the curtains. I want one...I want one...unfortunately, I won't be getting one until my accounts are self sufficient, which will never happen.
Thanks again, David!
