    Default Myrtle Beach, SC

I am taking my son to a baseball tournament at Myrtle Beach for 10 days. My home is in Maine and I am unfamiliar with SC waters. I am staying at the Springmaid Beach Resort which is on the beach and has a 1060 foot fishing pier. I would like to fly fish, any suggestions for me as to where or what? I have a 9 foot 8 wgt. Also will be taking bait rods for back-up. Can I fly fish from pier?

    Thanks,
    Jim Kennedy Sr.

The pier is about 25 to 30 ft. off the water, kinda hard to fly fish
their.try the inner coastal waterway for fly fishing ,or maybe, the surf, good luck any way.

If you have the time and $, call Gene Dixion at 843-546-3645. He is a light tackle guide out of Georgetown and he fishs for redfish and sea trout. Georgetown is one hour south of Myrtle. Gene a great guy and a great guide. I've been going out with him for 4 years.
