    Default Charleston report (6/28)

Shot down to Chucktown late Tuesday to fish the harbor Wednesday. Left the boat at home and hooked up with a local guide I met a little while ago. Started at the jetties around 7am and worked through the ICW, habor flats and Cooper River. Day was cut a little short after we towed a stranded boat back--our payback for the good deed was to get caught in a Lowcounty squall for about 45 minutes... but it certainly could have been us on the other end of the tow rope.

Caught some nice specs in the river on on the flats. One small bluefish and flounder also came aboard for a brief moment. Weather was great with a high ~90 and pretty calm.

We did hook into some monster redfish--three of them broke us off on 40# shock leaders! Zero in the boat :(. Lesson learned: bring the heavier gear next time. Did have one ugly toadfish to show for it.

All in all, another great day on the water with good friends.

Lowcountry, It's good to see some reports from down that way. Get down to fish that area a little each year and it's good to see what's going on there. Thanks for the report.
