    Default Interesting Tag Return

Was just notified that a Cobia I tagged on 7/23/05 was recaptured on 6/03/09, at large 1411 days. I measured the fish at 52" total length at it was recaptured at 52" fork length. I tagged the fish on a wreck off the seaside of the Eastern Shore and it was recaptured off of Oregon Inlet. I wonder where that fish traveled inbetween those dates?

    Looks like the fish shrunk.

Unless I am thinking wrong, which is probable.

I am convinced that the only reason I passed 9th grade math with a D- is that my teacher did not want to take the chance that I might show up again in her class the next year.

Dennis, wouldn't fork lenght be longer than total lenght? That one had me thinking though. I wonder what the recaptured total lenght was?

Fork lenth is shorter, so I would asume total lenth would now be 56-58 give or take.....But I alway heard that these where fast growing fish. Anyway, congrats on getting some info about the recapture.

You are right. I had that all backwards. My fingers were going faster than my brain!
