Old Grounds and Site #10 9/2/05

Left IRI w/ the wife at 9:30am. Tide was on the way out. Had heard there had been some flounder @ #10 so tried that on the way out to "B" Buoy. Picked up small croaker and trout. Moved out to the Old Gorunds where there was a fleet of boats, a lot from New Jersey. Picked some short flounder, sea bass(back to growup) and skate. It hurts to watch those Jersey & MD guys put those DE Shorts in the box while we have to turn them loose! Had a nice fat 17"er which the wife wanted me to step on so we could have it for supper. Nah, I turned it back so N.J. & MD fisherman could take it home. I'd sure like all the Reg's the same!

Loads of Menhaden/bunker out there with blues working thru them. Stopped and cast to them both on the way out and way in. Picked up a few nice blues.

Nice to have a wife who loves to be on the water and to drive the boat, but doesn't usually fish. She was happy to follow the schools of breaking fish as I cast to them.

Sounds like you had an enjoyable day out there Mike, think your wife would teach mine how to drive the boat so I could get a bit more fishing in? *grin* I agree with your thoughts on keeping the reg's the same irregardless with which state you launch out of, maybe we need to get Md. registration for ours? Nice report and sounds like it was a great day on the water for you both. Doug
