Left the dock around 7am, and headed south of the 8's. About 9 we had our first hook up, but lost it. Half hour later we landed a nice fat 40". Fished south of the 8's till about 11 or so. Then headed to the shipping channel edge south-west of the 8's. Hooked up 6 more fish all from about 1:00-2:30. LOST THEM ALL. This was a charter trip, and hear the leaders the captain gave us were all FAILING. Need less to say I flipped out, but never even got an apoligy from him. Well we did have a good time, and that's what counts. The fish are here!!! Going back down the 20th to try it again, but with my own leaders!!!

all right what boat were you on????????
Well!! I'm not one to bad mouth people, or captains. What was happening was the snell knots were coming undone. On our way back the first mate and I set the hooks on the side of the boat, and pulled on the leader, and just watched the snells come undone. The captain told me that he buys his leaders from a guy in Lewes, and has been useing the same guy for 10 years or so. He thought maybe it was because of switching to florocarbon. Which that is all I use for leaders, and have never had a problem. I would tell you the name of the boat, but I've also had some great trips with this guy. What I have learned though is to always use my own equipment.
