Sightcasting Cobia Report with Capt Ben!

Chartered out with Capt. Ben yesterday out of Bubbas in search of a cobe. First off let me tell you one thing - this guy can pick out a needle in a haystack!!! With all 5 of us crammed up on the tower, he'd be the first one to spot a cobe from far away! How does he do this???? I actually called BS on a lot of fish he saw but he proved me downright wrong! I was completely amazed as it was literally minutes before I could see the fish approach the boat. I'm starting to think there's something wrong with my eyes now. Anyways as for the report - saw about 8 fish. A few of them spooked right away. Caught 2 small ones and 1 at about 50pds. Almost hooked up with another that was the same size as it was swimming alongside the 50pder we caught. I guess it had a taste of the steel hook and shot off. Boo! Also, had a shot at another monster cobia at about 80-85 pounds that just cruised by the boat with no love. Man that'll make anybody's knee's buckle! We all had a blast and definitely well WELL worth the money!!
