Anybody out there????
YOO-HOO!
Headed down to Pompano end of July w/ family and I’ll have my lighter weight surf rod (9 ft spooled w/ 20lb) and a couple 7 ft medium weight rods suitable for most inshore stuff here in VA. Probably bring the 8-9 wt fly rod too. I know there’s a pier there but honestly pier fishing isn’t my thing. Is surf fishing even allowed out in front of your hotel?? (I'm used to the Outer Banks but I've heard tell of places that don't allow....Sacrilege!!!)
Any helpful suggestions out there for shore based opportunities??? Inshore charters??
Thanks.

bump!
Have a time share down there Canada House, the peir I beleive you are speaking about is about 1.5 from CH. Anyway never have been to that pier. Have seen some people fishing from the beach surf fishing Early morning/late evening. During the day a bunch of beach bums...... If you go north on A1A past CH you will come up to a draw bridge inlet (across from the fishing marina), you can park there and fish in the inlet. If you want to go a charter I recomend Captain Jack on the Fishing Fool (across the street from CH) 1/2 day charter for around $300 to $400. He will put you on the Kingfish! I never tryed the other charters down there.

Here's his website:
The Fishin Fool - Pompano Beach Fishing At It's Best!
Tried to send you a PM but I guess you have it turned off? The inlet I told you about has a jetty you can walk out on it's by the lighthouse, you cannot miss it. I have seen some people catch a few fish there, I really never had much luck but I did not have bait I.E. shrimp, crabs,.... Used some rattletraps.... no luck, the people with bait caught alot more than I did! The charter was on a 26' boat and we caught some nice Kingfish, first time fishing in Pompano! Next year will go fishing with captain Jack again and the price was $295.00 for a 1/2 charter. His wife makes this smoked dip!!!! it's out of this world! Let me know how you do.

Thanks a bunch ALYTY!!! Glad to hear about the surf fishing and the access info for the inlet jetty. Also considering 1 day for an inshore charter.
RE: PM....yeah...it was turned off (duh). It's back on now if you've got any tidbits of info to pass on.
I really do appreciate the response.
