I know as a gun owner many shops have alot of good quality used guns to choose from. Just wondering if any shops sell any used rods and reels or combos? just a thought

p.a. Distributing sells a few but it's not a very big selection. What are you looking for?

Bayside Tackle use to have some used ones and also sold some on consignment.

Here is their info if you want to give them a call.

    Default EBay has plenty

Check out EBay for used tackle. There is plenty to choose from. It's a great source for some older reels like Penn Squidders. Older green Penn spinning reels, 930 Penn levelwinders, and other better quality reels. I even picked up a replacement for my old Ovis 100 that I fished in the 60s. I had a choice3 of 5 of them to bid on.

you usually have to be there soon after they come in. i have picked up 4-5 rods on consignment out of bayside tackle in the past 5 weeks all priced to go. also picked up some good reels off of some of the message board classified sections and a couple off e-bay.

I recommend using a Shimano bait runner for a spinning reel with an ugly stick. If you are looking for a great baitcasting reel. Try to look for either a Shimano TR 100 or 200 on ebay. You will want to match those reels up with a 6 foot ugly stick that is stiff. Spool them with power pro and go catch them.

Pawn shops. flea markets, estate and yard sales. I've bought whole tackle boxes at auctions. There's an antique shop on Granby Street, I think Attic treasures but not sure, with a barrel of rods and reels.
