good job on the spades. an a cool video as well
JC, Danny and I decided to go in search of Spadefish Friday at noon. We knew the obvious place to find them was the CLT but when we arrived we found a bunch of divers that were spooking the fish, preventing a bite from turning on so we left. We found the Spades over the tower reef area and they were more than willing to play with us. Got our limit and headed to Cape Henry to catch some Spanish Macs but the tide was slack and the bite slow so we headed to the ramp and home.
Water temp was 78 degrees, chowder clam under slip bobbers with 1/2 oz. of weight, there was a significant amount of current out there necessitating somewhat of a technical presentation to hook up while drifting the wrecks.
I put together a video that I feel epitomizes Spadefishing... Doubled over rods, screaming drags and a lot if smiles... Enjoy
Thanks to Danny and JC for coming along!!!
