Way to stick it out and put food on the table! Thanks for the report.
This was only my second trip out this year and as luck would have it the storms came in. Got traps and line ready Friday afternoon so we could get an early start. Left the house Sat. morning at 4:30 only to hit the very heavy rain going down 97 from Glen Burnie to Mayo. Waited at the ramp for about an hour for the lightning to stop. Got the gear set and started crabbing around 7 and by 11 only had 7 crabs in the basket. We caught a ton of small crabs from 3" to 5" and alot of throw back females. Around 11 the tide started to move good ant the bite picked up. Ended up at 2:30 with 3/4 bushell. We tried all diffenert depths from 3' to 12'. Just when we thought we had the depth figured out, the bite moved. All in all what started out to be a very dismal rainy day turned out to be a nice day out on the river enjoying the day and catching enough crabs for the family to enjoy. Sure does beat work.
