    Default Mercury 25hp Outboard Care

While this doesn't pertain to fishing, I figured that the answers I would get here will help a lot.

I am one of the coaches for the Virginia Tech Rowing Team and we have a couple of launches which we use to follow the shells as they practice. For this we used Mercury 25hp outboards (2-stroke).

I've read on here a couple of times about a fuel additive that people add to help reduce the wear and increase the engine life of their motors. What is the name of it again? It has not been used in the past by previous coaches but I figured that it's not to late to start, especially since the engines just gone done with some maintenance.

Seafoam will cut the carbon and thus reduce wear. Some use yamaha ring free. Others use startron for the E10 issues

Here's a couple of links to another product that you can check out.

Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment - HOME

Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment - LIFESTYLE MARINE

I've been using this for a couple of years and I'm convinced it does all that it claims.

Where can I find it (startron)...SW VA isn't exactly brimming with Marine stores. Tried walmart but no go. Any auto store or do I need to order it online?

Have seen it at most Marine stores but as a last resort, with some scouting around for the lowest price (and sometimes free shipping), it is easy to get online. Just google or bing.
