Default Prop question: I have a Merc SS prop - need a Yamaha

To make a long story short, my boat with a 1987 115hp Mercury sank and I came across a deal too good to pass up on a similar boat with a 1992 115hp Yamaha. I took the Yamaha boat out today and I think I need a better hole shot. I have a really nice 13 X 19 stainless steel prop from the Mercury. The Yamaha has a not-as-nice 21 pitch ("21K"), I assume 13" and change aluminum prop that's seen better days. I would love to have the 13 X 19 stainless steel on the Yamaha but it's for the Merc. Is there a way to change it without costing an arm and a leg? Would a prop shop take an exchange? Try to sell it and hope to get enough money to get a stainless steel one? Suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

Check to see if the Merc prop will fit on the Yamaha prop shaft. If the splines line up, you just need to get a special thrust washer that Merc makes to allow their props to fit Yamaha motors...I think. There might be some special requirements on the nut end too, but I can't remember.

it will fit , same shaft diameter & splines ,but you will probably need to change the thrust washer, try it & see how it fits & runs
