Default Lower Potomac Sat. 9/5 and Sun. 9/6 2009

Went trolling for Blues and Macks from #9, to Red/White at Mouth of the Potomac, to #3, up by #5, to #7. No fish caught. Tried drifting for Croaker and no fish caught. Sunday took Scout 175 out to run since it had not been in water for 6 weeks but it ran great after charging battery Saturday night. Sunday caught 4 nice sized blues trolling near the reef out from Hog Island. Back to marina by 9am. Pics:

Hey dave. Thanks for the intel saturday. We ended up with two spanish on sunday, and several blues. We threw the blues back and kept two spanish. Fished around buoy # 1. Bite seemed to be good early but when boat traffic got there bite slowed. We never seen such traffic for spanish. It looked like opening day of rockfish out there at times. Gold spoon and mackeral tree produced the spanish. One on a # 1 planer and one on an inline weight.

    Dave,

I thought it was just me but I did not put a fish in the boat Saturday either. My first offical "Skunk" of the year. I fished at Point Lookout with all the other boats and even headed North tward Point No Point but nothing for me. We did manage six blues on Sunday at Point Lookout but they were much smaller than the weeks before.

My neighbors (avid and excellent fisherman) went out saturday and sunday (we are in Jackson Creek) just below Ragged Pt on the lower Potomac. They found the macs and some 18-20 in bluefish on satorday and even more on sunday. They went down to 9 and 7 but ended up finding the fish betwen our creek and Piney Pt.

Pretty decent Spanish bite on Sunday just south of Point No Point in about 35' of water.
