    Default Fishing report: 9/14/09

What a great looking day. Light winds and little boat traffic. Left Bodkin with 25 spot and headed south. Next stop; Poplar Island. It was so nice I thought about going as far south as possible. We fed the blues most of our spot, but did manage two nice rock and two blues. The weather was perfect; had a great time. I know I ran over a lot of fish to get to Poplar, but at least we gave the boat a good run. 5th (Marty)

Trolled yesterday not far from Bodkin, caught two nice 24" rock on two passes in same spot. Started at 8:30 and caught fish around 10:00 A.M. Small chartruese bucktail with 5" twister(tandem rig). The lumps near buoy 13 was the area. Saw birds sitting but no baitfish on top. Promptly went in to watch the game.

Not enough action to make another thread; so I'll add it to this one. Today 9/15/09 talked a friend into trailering his boat (22 grady white) to Solomon's to try trolling # 15 tony's for the chance of either rock or blues. Now we didn't have any "local" knowledge of the area and we just wandered out in front of the Patuxant looking for birds or bait. I was really disappointed in the lack of bird action. I'm sure it gets hot just before dark, but not much happining from 7-11 am. We did manage one nice blue along with our suntan and picnic on the boat.
I'm sure we were in the wrong area, but we just wanted to see if we were missing out on nonstop bluefish action. 5th (Marty)
