Windshields turning blue?

I posted earlier my quest for a new boat. One boat I'm looking at is a Pilot house type boat from Pro-line. Certainly looks appealing, staying out of the weather and everything, but my only experience with boats is with very old boats where the windshields turn "blue" over time (i.e., you can't see out of them). With a pilot house type of setup, this would be terrible if this were to happen. Has glass improved over the years so this isn't a concern? How do you keep the glass on a pilot-house from being opaque even on a trip in saltwater? Do the wipers work that well? Seems very appealing except for that worry....

i have found that if i wax/ polish my windshield inside and out with the same polish i use for the boat hull, it seems to stay clear and easy to see through, even in cold temps. and doesnt fog up... 74 seacraft original glass,

Never thought about the wax thing. I've used RAIN-X for years and do not use the wiper when its salt water because of the white smear it leaves. RAIN-X beads the water well enough that it doesnt bother my vision enough to worry about. Apply it to inside and outside of the glass.

yeah, i use the the west marine ptef or starbright ptef to wax the hull and knock out the windshield at the same time. hull gets waxed every two months, windshield about everymonth. i have a windshield wiper but honestly dont know if it works because i dont need it
