No excuse for ignorance of the law. Even worse for a blatant disregard for the law. Where is DNR when you need them?

    Where did this happen?

just outside rockhall on the chester river. i got to admit i didnt give them guys any crap about it,it would have done nothing but caused me trouble.i didnt call DNR cause they would be way up the road before any one responded . i think need bigger fines, maybe take their boat and truck and gear just like poaching ducks or deer.

1-5 per bushel $150.00 prepayable fine. However, the Judge could impose up to $1,000 fine for the first offense and the second offense is $2,000 and/or 1 year.
    6-10 per bushel $300.00
    11-15 per bushel $450.00
    16-20 per bushel $600.00

Sooks are off limits from 9-26 thru 10-4 for commercials.

Right now he might get $15-$20 a bushel for sooks if he sold them to a buyer. Doesn't seem worth keeping.

    Dog,
Funny you should bring this up. When I got back to the Wye ramp Friday afternoon the nice DNR lady wanted to see my catch. She looked at the basket and said looks like you had a good day. We chatted for a while and I said that I saw her last week at the ramp removing one sook after another from a fella's catch. I asked her what was the fine for having a female crab and she said $125 no matter how many sooks she finds. She actually said she felt sorry for the guy and didn't even right him a ticket. She just put the sooks back in the water and let the guy go.
    Go figure!
