anyone?
I'm in the market for a trolling motor and wanted to get people's thoughts on a minn kota vs. a motorguide.

Don't know how loud the MG is these days but Mk has always been quiet!

You may as well ask Chevy or Ford. Each has it's own following. I have always used (and liked) Motorguide. Only problem I have is that the props do not works well in thick grass. The minn kota prop works very well in grass. I took my dremel tool and "modified" the minn kota prop to fit on my Motorguide. Now, in my opinion, I have the perfect trolling motor.
Personally I would stay away from the early motorguide (24v) motors with the "infinite" speed control. They had some manufacturing problems with the circuit boards. I've had one of the "5 speed" models that has been on 6 different boats....and still going strong.
