Not if you will be using it over the winter.
Jim
I have a new Yamaha, and was wondering whether I need to do any winterizing to it. I plan on using the boat all winter, weather permitting. Thanks for all of the tips I recieved re: depth finders- I'm very pleased with the Garmin 120. Tim

if you start your engine once every 3 weeks or so, you should not have to winterize the engine (i.e. fog), however you're not using the fuel, and the octane in your gas will deteriorate over time, so you should throw some Sta-Bil or Stor-N-Start into your tank and run it into the engine. Also, many people use winterizing as the time to change lower unit oil, so don't forget to do that. Don't know how new your Yamaha is. I have about 9 hours on mine and did NOT change lower unit oil. But I did winterize b/c its on land until March.
