Beautiful Morning and Evening on the River. I was able to squeeze out 2 trips today...
This morning I got Sherwood on the boat with me and we spent 2 hours to find 5 fish. The sunrise and water were perfect and I would have been happy to just be out there. The largest fish was 20" but it had the strangest tumor on its side that I have ever seen. Check out the picture.
I got my 13 year old son out after school. We ran into Chris "Dead Low Tide" and Robalo Rob out there soaking in the fun. We found Rob and his dad later on and they had big smiles on their face. Rob gave me a peak at a nice catch so my son and I settled in to clean up Rob's scraps. We had been on the hunt for a fish bigger than 18" for about 1 1/2 hours and we were soon seeing some good signs and sure enough Ben had a nice fat 22". He had a real time getting it to the boat.
Shortly after, I was able to get a 21 3/4" for the board.
One of those perfect Rocktober Days...
Great to see the "Dead Low Tide" in all her glory. I wish I had my better camera on board to get some zoom shots of you guys. These will do.
Good seeing you out there Burt. Glad you and your son picked up a few nice ones in my secret spotWe counted 6 boats working the same area when we headed in!
I'm still looking for a larger grade of fish, and may go back to jigging next time out?
