    Default 24"-25"-27"

Some days on the water are epic because of the fish you catch, others because of the company you keep--today it was both. My dad and I hadn't gotten to fish together this fall and tonight looked like the best chance for us to get on the river together before the big girls head for the sea. After spending some time with the baby, we hit he ramp around 4 p.m. and went all but fishless for 2-1/2 hours. Then after sundown--thanks to a spot Craig has discovered the night before--we ran into a school of heavy rockfish churning the shallows like a pack of Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. It took a few minutes to get them interested in our offerings, but over the next half hour my dad landed a 24 and a 27-1/4 inch rockfish, as I added a 25-inch fish to my total. A few short weeks ago, I never figured I'd be wrapping up the month this way--on the Skeeter with my dad, cranking in big rockfish under a cool October moon. Ain't fishing something?

I'm not sure if pouring beer into the fish makes them any longer .

Awesome job - congrats on everything
