Default yamaha 4-stroke - where to buy?

After reading about and talking to people about actual experiences with Ed's Supermarine I want to avoid dealing with them. I am looking to buy a new 60 hp or 75 hp Yamaha 4-stroke which will need to be installed with no-feedback steering on my 19'Carolina Skiff I already own. I live in Bel Air but am willing to travel for the right dealer and the right price.

Any advice would be appreciated - thanks

I bought a 2007 Yammie 90 2 stroke brande new in April 2007. I did my research and compared prices.

In the end, the out the door price was the best at Fairwinds in Annapolis. When i say out the door price i mean the check i wrote at the end. Some places the controls were cheaper, some places the engine was cheaper, etc. Fairwinds price was cheaper w/ tax than anything i found in Delaware.

The guys there will probably rub you the wrong way. They are working class, gruff, and will not hold your hand through the process. They give you a price, do the work, end of story.

I ended up selling the boat with the engine and never needed service work, so i cannot comment on that.

Shop 'till you find the best deal for the motor and components you want.
I'll help you do the install. It's easy. Save the labor $$$$ for bait or another boat accessories that you need.

Beacon Light Marina, Bowleys Quarters, MD 410-335-6489 Ask for Chris Pine.
You will like what you find. In this economy you should be able to work a sweet deal for sure.
    Best of Luck!

Jmho, But their boat prices are WAYYYYYY over priced. I can't comment on their parts and such. I was looking to purchase a 24 DLV and they wanted 5k over other dealers. Yes they both had Yams and identical equip. I don't mind someone making a couple bucks off of me but the sales guy there really busted my bubble. After I found the same skiff at a dealer over the bridge way cheaper with bottom paint I never looked back at them.

Ed's would not sell me a Yamaha unless thet installed it, said it was Yamaha's policy. They did sell me a Suki in the crate out the door. Shop until your blue in the face, you will not beat Ed's prices.

I hear what you are saying. I'll bet that was with a robust economy. Sales people are starving now and willing to cut commisions big time just to get a sale. The sales guy there was a bit inflexible when I was buying my 24dlx but I worked him down and got the best deal. The only person who could beat them was Ed's and I wouldnt touch them with a 10' pole. Just sharing my experience and thoughts, not all customers get the same service at every place. Thats why we post on here to get a consensus.

Until you buy a 115hp for xxx dollars and when you go to pick it up they give you a 90hp and you look at the receipt to find out there is no specification for hp just a part number for 90 hp. They've screwed so many people I would be afraid of pulling into their parking lot. To each their own I guess,
