Kayak for Shad in Richmond/James River

Has anybody tried to kayak the James at Richmond for shad? Is it reasonable to try? Thinking about Thursday 3/31 if anyone is interested...

I'd like to try the Nott, but it's about a 3+ hours drive for me...still possible, but I'd rather cut that drive down and fish some more.

No prob, I have seen quite a few in that area. Lemme know if you are thinking about heading out there. Nice size flathead in that area also.
