    Default Hornady SST slugs??

I have shot these slugs out of a 11-87 fulled rifle barrel. I am not please them at all. There is too many fliers when sighting in. I missed a deer at 100 yards today and that is after i thought i had it sighted in at a 100 but they SUCK as far as consistenty hitting the paper. I have killed a lot of deer with them but i am over there performance.

I have a h&r 20 and it shoots great with them. I have heard that it is the exact opposite with a 12 though.

Agreed. I did have one not fire last year. Pin hit hard and put a nice dent in the primer. Back in the gun this year and sighted in perfect.
    I am still using them.

Different sabots shoot differently out of each gun. You just need to find the one that shhots the best from your gun...................Gary

Both of my sons shoot H&R 20'S. Neither one liked the Hornadays;dead on one shot 6 inches off the next. Try the Remington solid golds they seem to pattern better for us. Its gun to gun as previously stated my buddy swears by the Hornadays too.

    Thumbs down

Ryason, its funny you say you had one misfire on you. These damn shells ! I had two of these misfire on me ! One was shooting at paper and the other at a buck. I still managed to get the buck but I was lucky. I had to eject the dud out of the gun and cycle another shell into the chamber. Of course deer took off running, but he made the mistake of stopping. These shells suck as far as I'm concerned. Both duds primers were struck hard. Accuracy sucks too. Very dissapointed. My gun is a Mossberg 12 ga. Switched to federals with barnes sabots, these shoot great
