Thanks to the post's on TF I decided to try fishing the middle bay area this Thanksgiving. Down from southwest Va [Smith Mountain lake] area to Deltaville out of [Norveiw] on wed with the boats and birds pulling large baits with 9" shad multiple colors and watched other boats catch alot of fish with only one on my boat so dissapointing, but remembering the post's I had read I decided to switch to smaller baits on Thurs. and WOW what a difference a little gained knowledge, alot of luck and a day makes. A great day on the water with alot of fog and alot of fish, 2 in the slot none over but numerous 20-27"ers and after firing up the live well and waiting on larger fish and releasing the smaller ones I ended up with a limit of nice fish. The info from you guys posts is PRICELESSThanks and Happy Thanksgiving

Nothing like having some success to get you hooked on stripers! Glad you had a great day catching. It's nice to have so many folks posting on the Northern Neck board for a change - has always been lots of boats out there, but relatively few posting.
Thats a long haul from Smith Mountain Lake. We live in Waynesboro (north of you), and its a 4 hour drive one way to splash the boat - but well worth the drive, especially when there's fish to be caught![]()
Yep, it's great when people share info, as someone noted, that's what this board is all about!
Glad you had a great fishing trip!
Take a lesson Mr. Cokey!
