Late report I know. A couple of weeks ago I was asking about the Savage River. Well everything I heard is that the construction on the dam has begun so I avoided the area and went instead to the North Brach of the Potomac. I thought I'd hit a local stream first though and the Monday before thanksgiving I went to Passage creek. Fished in a cold rain for only an hour but got a couple of real small trout on nymphs (size #18)
Passage creek.
Tiny trout from Passage creek.
The next day my buddy and I drove out to the North Branch of the Potomac. Although conditions looked awesome the fishing was tough. We first tried the upper C+R area. This is where my friend caught a nice Rainbow on a size#16 nymph with a dropper
Rst of day was slow. A few bites, no hatch going on. But water levels and clarity were great.
Last week I ventured to Jupiter Florida and fished with my brother and my high school friend. Had a great day with light tackle and fly. As for the fly had a couple shots at 20-30lb cobia. But did land small king mackerel and nice spanish on the fly.
Nice cobia and king on spinning tackle. Couple of shots at sails also
great sunset!
Cant wait to the next trip.
Jim
Nice photos...never fished Passage but might this coming week.
I don't think that is a trout in the top photo, looks like a big dace to me.
