I've caught some within about 10' of the Severn. Up to 6#. Not sure if there are any in Severn proper. Round Bay can get higher salinity levels than the mainstem sometimes.
anyone ever caught a largemouth bass in the severn?

I've seen a few small ones about 8-9 inches near Lakeland.
My guess is they washed in from the pond there.
Heard of 1-2 caught but very doubtful there are many in the river.
They would hit the lures thrown for Pickerel so if LM were around - they would be caught.
What could be more mundane than dying of old age or of natural causes when there is death by misadventure to be pursued ? Skip
I've caught them up near the head of the river before. Mostl likely due to the fresher water coming in from Severn Run.

I live in Arden on the Severn; caught a large mouth at the narrows last year, I think around April, about 14"

In 1991 they had the Bassmasters Classic Tournament on the Chesapeake Bay and the weigh in was at the Baltimore Arena which I attended. They showed a map of the bay designating areas that the participants (Rick Clunn, Guido Hibdon, etc) were allowed to fish during the tournament. As I recall, the upper portions of the Magothy and the Severn were both listed as fishable locations for the tournament which suprised me a little. I am not sure if any of the Bass Pro fishermen hit those areas or not? Probably a long way to travel for lower probability of fish but the Bass Massters definitely thought there were largemouth in those areas.
Here are the results from that tournament http://proxy.espn.go.com/outdoors/ba...urnamentId=208
I've caught a couple in the upper stretches. They were pale and small...not too great looking!
