I bought an Orvis Battenlkill this spring (7 1/2' HDG) on the auction site for about $480. It is now my go to rod and I rarely fish anything else for trout. Those line weights are typically 1 to 2 weights over so what you have is a great trout rod and a great smallie/steelhead rod. If you are into fly fishing and don't desperately need the money, you should fish them. Having a fish on a bamboo rod is a totally different experience.
