    Question Offshore Charter Recommendation?

I know this question has been asked in the past with subtle variations, but now I'm looking and would appreciate recommendations for 2010...

We're looking for an offshore charter later in the Summer (perhaps July or August, but flexible) for 3 or 4 adults. Here's our particular situation:

-prefer departure from Va. Beach area unless there is something WAY better in N.C.

-experienced Bay anglers but no offshore experience

-not looking for an all-day trolling trip... we want a mix of trolling, jigging, and bottom-fishing

-pounds of meat caught is not our top priority; we're going for the fun & experience

-we need a captain & crew willing to talk about technique, tackle, & location (here's the deal: we don't want to steal your prime spots, but we do want to be able to look at a map and say, "Hey, that's where we were")

-finally, if it's so rough on the scheduled day that you have to be tied down to keep from being thrown from the boat, we'd want an option to reschedule... this is a one-time "big deal" to us and we don't want it spoiled by crazy seas. We're realistic and have years on the Bay, so we all know that it's hard to predict conditions. Let's just say that we'd want to err on the side of caution.

So, is the economy tough enough on the charter fleet that we might be able to find someone willing to work with us for good money? (we're not cheapskates)

    Recommendations greatly appreciated.

if you find yourself deciding to go south, look up scott warren on BIG TAHUNA, he is equipped to and willing to troll, or jig, or bottom fish on any given day.

I would definetly check with Captain Max King out of lynnhaven in va beach. That new contender he's got is fast and sips fuel which keeps his charter rates pretty low. He puts on a great time and is more than willing to show you where he is at and what to do. His number is 757-650-3176 or you can check out his website at www.CaptainMaxKing.com

Capt jake Hiles on the Matador. He is out of Rudee and very well versed at mixing up trolling/jigging/bottom fishing. Big boat without the big boat price.
