-- Changed Discussion --AS OF 430 PM WEDNESDAY...THE MODELS CONTINUE TO INDICATE THAT THE
LOW EMERGING OFF THE FLORIDA COAST TONIGHT AND MOVING WELL OFF THE
NC COAST THURSDAY/THURSDAY EVENING WILL HAVE MORE OF AN AFFECT ON
THE AREA THAN WE PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT. IT NOW APPEARS THAT WINDS
WILL REACH AT LEAST 25 KT SOUTH OF OREGON INLET LATE THURSDAY AND
THURSDAY NIGHT. SOME OF THE MODELS INCLUDING THE NAM AND GFS ARE
AS STRONG AS 30 KT THURSDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY FRIDAY. FOR NOW WINDS
WILL BE KEPT TO 25 KT ON THE LOW SIDE OF THE GUIDANCE ENVELOPE.
THE COMBINATION OF RESIDUAL EASTERLY SWELL FRESHENING NORTHEAST
WINDS AND SWELL WILL MAKE FOR HAZARDOUS BOATING
CONDITIONS...ESPECIALLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING
WITH SEAS PEAKING AT 8 TO 10 FEET IN THE CENTRAL WATERS. WINDS AND
SEAS WILL SUBSIDE FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND ESPECIALLY FRIDAY NIGHT AND
SATURDAY AS WEAK HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS OVER THE WATERS. RIGHT NOW
SATURDAY IS LOOKING GOOD FOR BOATING AND EARLY SUNDAY MAY TURN
OUT OK AS WELL DEPENDING ON THE SPEED OF A STRONG COLD FRONT
APPROACHING FROM THE WEST. WILL INDICATE WORSENING CONDITIONS
SUNDAY AFTERNOON. THE FRONT SHOULD BE MOVING OFFSHORE LATE SUNDAY
NIGHT OR EARLY MONDAY WITH CONDITIONS IMPROVING EARLY NEXT WEEK.-- End Changed Discussion --
I just got back last night and I'm already planning the next adventure.![]()
