Well today was my first trip of the year only I was on someone else's boat. Fished with Steve and Joe today on Steve's boat. Left Bay Point marina around 7:00 AM headed for Ship John Shoal, nothing doing there, moved around a little until we anchored up in very muddy water. Again nothing happening so we moved south to meet Steve's friend Mike who had 5 fish and was part of the fleet. Got there and Steve got our first keeper of the season. Then nothing until the tide change at noon. Waited thru a 2 hour tide change but the wind was too strong for the boat to turn around with the tide. Steve decided to make a bold move and did that turn out to be our saving grace. We had about 15 keepers in an hour and a half, all on clams. Kept our limit and were throwing back 35" fish. Great day. And as Steve put it,
"Now that's what I call a Good Friday".
For all you guys that left when the tide wouldn't turn the boat, (and I was one of them) sometimes it pays to try one more place. Thanks Steve!
nice report. Don't know the areas you are mentioning. Which inlet or bay were you in?
