    Default Basic Trolling rigs

I realize there are many possabilites out there for trolling for Stripe bass, but what would be some basic set-ups for trolling in the lower Potomac. I've read a variety of posts about umbrella rigs and single and tandom heavy weight jigs and shad and to be honest it seems they all have caught fish. Thats why I figured I'd put it out there and get some opinions on what basic set-up would you use with a 4 rod spread.

    Thanks

Google: Captain Mark Galasso; there is a sketch posted with his opinions. He will use as many as seven lines out; two on planers. I have enough to handle doing 5.

Four rods I would use. Off each side rod holders the tandem rigs, 6oz/3oz out about 80 to 90 feet, chartreuse on one side and white on other. Then two umbrella rigs off the back rod holders, one chartreuse and one white using 20oz inline weight attached to front of umbrella and have line out 50 to 60 feet. I have caught fish on a setup like this but I would also have a fifth rod out 225 to 275 feet with combo of a 6" FiretigerTomic / 4oz parachute jig w/6" chartreuse shad. Those five rods are what I normally use when I put the planer boards away sometime in mid May. Hope this helps.
