Set up - gloomis 842's and 843's with Shimano Sustain and Stradic reels 2500's and 3000's

Load 2 w/braid and 2 with mono. All w/floro leaders. Prefer to use artificials - soft and hard baits.....sometimes use use live baits, not as much fun IMHO. I fish for them wherevever I think they're hiding at....

I'm going back to the Outer Banks 3rd week in October.
Specks on my list...if conditions cooperate.
I've had great success in the surf with Mirrolures -pre sunrise through early morning at select sloughs with clear green water.

That said, I've cast shoulder to shoulder with guys pulling them in one after the other on a red back silver Mirrolure, while my red head Mirrolure didn't get a single one.
Finicky fish sometimes.

Then...there was that time they were layered up with blues on top...and puppy drum on the bottom, and you could cast anything...grubs, twisters or Mirrolures, and let it sink and selectively go after any one of them.
