Anyone try release clips on planer board lines?

Been using rubber bands on carabiners. This works ok but some break while putting out lines and it seems like the longet they stay in the water, they "cure" and become dang near impossible to break at all! THinking about trying to put some dubbro releases on my carabiners to get more consistant performance.

I used scotty clips a few times last year but ended up losing a few baits when the line got twisted on the clip going out.

I used the dubbro clips and either the line let loose or it got wrapped around, I now use those clips with rubber bands, makes it easier to put the line on. We had a 35 inch fish on the other day and the rubber band would not break, ending up pulling the line up the planer line and letting it go, then reeled the fish is, good luck on what ever you try....

I have been using Scotty clips for three years. They work great and I have not had any problems.

I 2nd the scotty clips! I don't know how people get line tangled with scotty clips. There are fish that wont pop the clips or rubber bands....just the simple fact of running boards sometimes. Good luck with either decision.

Scotty clips are great, and easy to see on board lines. BPS in richmond carries them and i'm sure RW's has them too.

Grab a bag of new rubber bands each season and you won't have any problems. The whole bag costs less than 1 Scotty clip. Any system can have a few glitches but keep it simple. A great source for carabiners is WalMart (1.00 ea).

scotty clips aret the best way to go and i dont know how you can tangle a line with them
