    Default MR MAKO

Ventured out Saturday with good friends, Bob, Joe, Dan and Rick. Left the dock at 6ish headed for the top seacret spot . Started the slick about 8 or so. had blue fish in the slick quick. Started to bail them on spinning gear (fun) Then about 10 we get our first blue shark release and from that point till 12 we released Two more blue sharks. Well the next hour and half were very quiet. Then the bluefish came back and gave us some more action and another sharke comes in the slick. Well we thought another blue shark. Bob jumps on the rod and horses this shark to the boat. At this point we figure out we have MR MAKO smiling at us ready to tear my boat up. I slide the gaff in the gill then Rick hammers him with the other. Well we got em (so we think). At this point we now have to get him in the boat so Dan opens the tuna door and we start to pull him through when all the sudden MR Mako smiled at me and starts thrashing aroud with all intentions of trashing the inside of my boat now. So as I wanted my cockpit the way it was when I left The dock I put a knife in the back of his head. Got back to Sunset at about 345 with an escort from the coast gaurd and air force through the Inlet. (Very cool air show). Hoisted Mr Mako on the scale to see 226LB Was a good trip with lots of action and good times. Only two small gaff marks on the side of hull to allways remind me of Mr Mako.

PS. Will post picks when wife comes in.

    X2, Good job, nice Mako!

Russ, what size boat do you usually go sharking in, and how much longer will the Mako's be around?
