For croukers start at the bridge and move downstream if you aren't getting anything. You can catch stripers right at the bridge at the right time of year.
My parents recently moved to Tappahannock - Cold Cheer subdivision off of Piscataway Creek. What areas of the Rappahannock river would be good for them to fish? They can put their boat (old Wellcraft V-20) in right in the Piscataway Creek and head out to the river from there. Any suggestion on bottom fishing areas near there? What about chumming or trolling? Thanks, Sean

Just downstream of the bridge is Ross' Rock, it's on most maps, and usually holds fish. Also can head downstream to the "Powerlines", obviously where high voltage lines cross the river. Be careful at the bridge. It's the demarkation line between fresh and saltwater and the license requirements are different.
You can also try Bowler's which is downstream of the power lines and is marked (or was) by a green buoy...check your chart for exact info..................good luck ...rolf
