    Default Togs & Croakers 5/02/05

Went this morning off Gwynn's Island for some pullage with my son. Bay was nice and there was an outgoing current. We ended up with a limit of togs from 3 1/2 to 7 1/4 lbs. Caught several croakers also but no size altho they were large enough to fillet. All fish were caught on fiddlers , hard crab and clam flavor fish-bites. The togs seemed to favor the fiddlers but when we put the fish-bites and a piece of hard crab on at the same time they liked that almost as much. Tried the fish-bites by itself and the croaker did hit it but not as well as the fiddlers and the combo. So I can say that fish-bites work. We had a great time and the weather was beautiful. [excited]

    BT,
Sounds like you and Bernie had a good day. Wish I could have been with you, instead of educating tomorrows leaders. Glad ya'll caught em' up. We need to talk about a B drum trip soon.

Sure would like to be able to get another black drum paper. Every time we tried to get a trip down last year the weather stopped me. Looks like its shaping up the same so far this year. I still have hope tho. Weekend weather has been awful so far. Boatel manager says I have been the only one out to fish so far.

Try the GI Reef area and you should be rewarded with the elusive tog. Good luck to you.

I gather them in the marshes around West Point. Just walk around and pick them up. Don't dig cause it disturbes the wetlands and someone may get upset.

Nice work BT and nice report. Getting ready for the striper season next week - cleaned out and regeared up my tackle bags today as my wife was not excited about the 15 - 20 mph wind. Been working too much and we have some catching to do...

    still can't spell.
