    Default simmons sea skiff

i have a 20' ssimmons sea skiff. i have flipped the boat over and placed on stands.
how hard is it to replace just the wood bottom? is it as simple as it looks?
am i in for a big suprise?
it looks good other than all the nail and screw holes are rotting.
i also want to glass over the bottom now or glass the new bottom i install, if i go this route.
    thanks for any suggestions.

Sounds like a great project, as long as the bottom framing is not rotted, pull the bottom off and fill all the old screw, nail holes and imperfections with epoxy/filler mix and epoxy a new bottom on then cover with 6oz cloth set in epoxy and go fishing.

    thanks bob and jim.
i have stripped fiberglass from bottom and everything seems solid inside and outside the boat.
its just the rot around the screws and nails. i was gonna oversize everything, but the rot has made a big area around the fasteners. i would have extremely large fasteners and not weight and cost effective.
how about where the sides overlap each other, the edge of the board has broken away with rot where the nail would go, and some of those holes are large if you remove the rot. should i just expoxy fill these area as well?
i want to epoxy bottom inside and out and glass. then i was gonna epoxy just the exterior sides of the boat with resin and paint.
