Sounds like another good trip! WTG Joe!
Troy off Seaducton talked me into a Mid-Week trip for some more offshore action. We reached our destination looking for the Tempature break and found it with scattered weed line and Cobalt Blue water. Nice 1.5 degree break. Trax was right near use and came on the line and got whacked by a couple hoos and I had 46 circle hook rigs made up and watched the dolphin tear them up. We caught a bunch of dolphin and found an adrift bouy with som to bail. We also had two WAHOO bites which one took the trailer bait off the teaser and them backlashed the poop out of a TLD 25 when it came in. You could have loaded up, but we were Marlin fishing. The first fish came on the right teaser. Called it out and Troy thought I was on Drugs again, but sure enough Joe hooked it on the left long. One down. Then had a HUGE Bull come inon the teaser, them then the other teaser, then hits short (Miss) then we get one of the cows he had with him. She was an 18#er, but never saw him again. Trax said he had seen 10 out a little deeper so we pushed out and have another encounter. Joe miss him a couple times. I am at the helm trying to keep this thing from pulling the teaser off. He is hot for it. Then I see him on the short and run down to hook it up. Fish on, pass the rod we get everything cleared and some slack gets in the line while the fish is jumping and BY BY fishy, Darn. I am back at the helm and Trax sees some cutters and we are about a 1/4 mile away. I look thru the binoculars to see the birds and a cutter. keep trolling thier way and i see a White on the mackeral and it gets a bite on it. Joe goes to switch it and someone drops back the mackeral in the excitement, OOOPS. BY BY whitey. Get to area and see the carnage and smell it. Birds everywhere and Trax gets one out of a couple. Heard Dave Lineberry (FINS) was on the rod, CONGRATS! That was our day and man we had action most of it. Beautiful day on the water.
Hope I can get out with Succession Sunday to bring it back to VB for a haul out.
