Train Buried Beneath Kerr Lake
I've certainly heard the stories over the years, but here is a neat 3 minute video with pics of the train engine at the trestle:
My questions are:
1) If you've ever seen Nutbush creek from Spring Valley Rd in North Henderson, you'll notice the Nutbush creek similar to what it probably looked like at the site of the train crash before the lake was created (creek only 1 foot deep at most). So, how did kids swim down to the train engine to ring the bell?
2) How would the bell make a ringing sound if indeed the bell was underwater?
I'm just waiting for the Structure Scan folks to verify this like they did the bridge in SML. Scott, I think legends are usuallly open to a little embellishment, kind of like the stories of the downed aircraft, divers, and 6 foot catfish....I'm sure you've heard those too.
