Potomac River between Bonum's Creek & Colonial Beach

Anyone fished this area for croaker in the last week or so?

Hoping to do a little fishing this weekend and was just wondering how far down river I needed to go to get on top of fish.

Fished this past Sunday out of Colonial Beach down to Popes Creek. Not much luck for Croaker or Catfish. Moved over to the Rapp and picked up 14 keeper catfish in about 1 1/2 hours.

I fished the Va side of the river across from St. Clements Island the other day and had no problem catching croaker. I fished for 3 hours and had 15 nice sized ones.

I was just out Tues & Wed this week. Although I am still getting familiar w/ lower section of Potomac, I did not have much luck at any of my usual spots; 301 bridge & fueling pier. However, at Pt. Lookout, I caught some nice blues drifting big pieces of shrimp. I plan on going out early Sat. to try again.
