Can you freeze razor clams

Has anyone tried storing the razor clams by freezing them . I want to store in smaller portions and use one clam in each bag with other baits. I'm using the mesh bags in my 20 topless traps .

Where can I get them in the Essex area ? How much do they cost for what quantity ? Do you have to crush them when you put them in bag ?

Once you freeze the clams you kill them. Fresh is always better than frozen and you want to put them in the bags WHOLE so do not crush them. The crabs will do that just fine. Some are putting a 2" long piece of 2" pvc in the bags to keep the crabs from tearing them up so fast............Gary

I'm basically just trying to get that smell in the bag since I'm hearing they love the clams so much . I'm putting perch and necks in them now together
.Like to give them a choice like Golden Corral .

Clams don't have to be alive, just semi-resh. Better off refridgerating (3-5 days) than freezing, even the leftover scraps will work just fine. Shouldn't need clams now thatthe water temps have started to fall.

Thanks , Never used them before . How much do they cost and do they come in a bushel and how many roughly in a bushel ?

Tony, There is a crabber down off of Old Battle Grove Road, or a road just off of it, who sold them in the Spring. At that time they were $50 a bushel. John
