    Default Rapp 11/19 Bumpy!

Bumpy! Fished from 0830-1300 picked up two smalls 21-22" one on a Hyper-striper and the other on a stretch-25; hungry little fish!

Went out this evening from 1620-1730, conditions were great almost flat calm and a bright moon when I left the River. No fish.....Just cant find my big one yet this season.

Hope all did well, good luck this weekend!

At least ya got some early on in the day. I know the feeling about looking for that big one still. I'm only able to fish once every couple weeks right now so the search is long and drawn out!

    Satts,
Putting fish in the box but cant buy anything over 27". Got bags of meat, now I want something 40+. Keep switching between big/small baits, deep/shallow runners, I think I am going to run a Tomic on the bottom,
    a 4oz chute with a 4oz in-line, a stretch 25 and a 1.5 oz Hyper-striper tomorrow, I hope one of them gets me a cow.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Good luck out there!!!
    John

As much as I hate stretches, they catch my first big fish every fall. With them biting sporadically though I would keep a mix of large and small baits in the water. This weekend I plan on rigging my tandems up with a 9" Shad on the heavy chute and a 6" on the lighter chute. Also going to pull Aan um fellas rigged with storms. If that doesn't work I'm going to break out the eels and find cow that way.

Stretches work, if I remember correctly you caught a 40" up by #10 early last year. I guess I will pull one way back next few trips. What size Chutes are you running?

I know there are some large fish being caught, but I think (or maybe just hoping) that the best is yet to come. The water temp yesterday was still 55 degrees. Last year I couldn't buy a bite on a 9" shad - largest fish I caught bit on the 4" shad umbrella. Yesterday, I had several rods hit that didn't come tight. All those rods had 9" shads - so I"m guessing that it's just small fish biting off more than they could chew - and didn't get enough shad to get to the hook. One was on a chute/stretch combo, and I'm sure if they hit the stretch, there is no way that the treble hook wouldn't have got hold of something - at least for a minute or two. I ran stretches on the WWB the last two trips - with no luck. Gonna give it one more try next week - if no luck, then I might try an umbrella way back there - need to find a buddy to reel that one back in....

At least you're still catching. I'm wondering what effect the full moon is going to have on the bite. Good luck - I'm sure you'll get that big one soon! Let us know when you do!
