Wow, great screen shot. Try cutting your motor over fish like that and dropping a 2-3 oz jigging spoon. Bet you'd hook up.
Hit the water at 8:00 and all lines in by 8:30. River was flat calm and enjoyed a beautiful day. Put a 24" fish in the boat at 11:00am - fish hit a 4" storm on a small umbrella. Trolled for the next three hours without a fish, despite some awesome marks on the fishfinder. Several boats trolled over these fish for hours - never did see anyone hook up. Finally gave up, and headed downriver. Got a hookup on a fat 22" to finish my limit at 2:00. Fish hit a 6" white shad on a bucktail. Trolled for about 30 more minutes, and got a fat 19" that went back to grow bigger. He hit the WWB, which had a 6" chartreuse shad on a bucktail.
Managed an over the slot fish almost every trip last fall - haven't hooked up on one yet in 4 trips. Water was 52 degrees in the river - hopefully they show up soon!!!!

Sounds like a good idea - but there were 6 other boats working this area trolling - at least one with boards out. I think it would have been very rude to drop the anchor in the middle of the fish right in the middle of the trolling pattern. Not sure if anyone ever got these fish to bite. All my action was away from the channel in about 35 feet of water.
