Went fishing with Byrd on Dec. 30 for trophy Specks in the ditch. We started out at a spot Byrd and DocMartin had landed Doc's 28" citation a week earlier. Upon arrival Byrd noticed the water temps were 10 degrees lower that during their previous trip. Needless to say it was a fairly vacant spot. We tried a few other places and landed a 18.5" striper for the box. We ended up near the Cove and that's when it happened, Bam!! My first Citation Speck. 24.25" landed on a LEZ 69 Mirrodine Mirrolure. I released it to assure my citation. It may have gone 5 lbs. but I knew it was long enough. A few casts later Byrd hooks up a 22" speck for himself. We called it a day around 1:15 or so. Wasn't a banner day as far as quantity but it worked for me!!
