Trawlers fishing off Kitty Hawk today took off tossing Rock Fish overboard. A buddy of mine is there now and says there are fish floating everywhere. He also said the coast gaurd is in the air, and could see all of this. It makes me wonder if there is any legal action ramifications that can be imposed against commercial fisherman.

Thank god there are serveral boats down there culling through these fish as many still have some life left in them.There are many 40inch plus class fish on top of the water. What a waste.

My neighbor just called me and told me same thing. He said there are a couple miles of big rock fish floating. Somewhere between Duck and the wright memorial. He said a trawler was dumping them.

I believe culling to get the 50 biggest fish they can is legal in NC, if within the three mile. It is a horrible waste of the finest part of the resource and a black mark on NC. The rule should be changed, even if they have to allow them more fish to reach a certain poundage. Wonton waste is hard to defend.
